| Training for Social Justice Lawyering |
The existing legal system emphasises a theoretical study of the law and lawyers are rarely provided with practical training. Often in this process the human rights perspective in the practice of law is ignored. Therefore, a strong need was felt for inducing the human rights perspective in the practice of law and CSJ developed a social justice lawyering programme with the objective of sensitizing lawyers to human rights issues. There are three categories of participants in this programme viz. lawyers from CSJ, lawyers and law students from other organizations and independent lawyers. This programme also acts as a platform for the integration of these three groups of participants so that there can be a larger and stronger group of social justice lawyers. |

| Methodology |
The training program focuses on skill-building and sensitisation rather than information dissemination. The overall training design is prepared keeping in mind that one has about 28 days of sessions in a year of training. These are the days one can use for skill-building and sensitisation while the information dissemination can take place through correspondence. |
